Power Queens Club Elects Sitsofe Sah as New National President

Madam Sitsofe Sah, formerly the National Treasurer of the Power Queens Club, has been elected as the new National President of the Electricity Company of Ghana’s (ECG) Power Queens Club.

A statement issued by the ECG Power Queens Club, copied to the Ghana News Agency said the election took place during the club’s 10th National Quadrennial Congress in Takoradi in the Western Region.

It noted that Madam Sitsofe secured 37 votes, defeating her main challenger, Madam Tamara Asomani-Wiafe, who garnered 26 votes.

It said alongside Madam Sitsofe, other executives, who were also elected include Madam Rosemond Boafo, Vice President; Madam Regina Bentil, Secretary; Madam Stella Sefah Appiah Assistant Secretary; and Madam Bernice Safoah Tagoe, Treasurer.

The rest are Madam Patience Amuzu, Financial Secretary; Emma Aba Amissah, Organizer; Madam Deborah Duncan, Porter; and Madam Mavis Aryee, Sports Coordinator.

Madam Doreen-Carol Anning-Gyebi, the immediate past National President of the ECG Power Queens in her farewell address urged the new leadership team to prioritise unity, love, and progress.

The statement said Madam Sitsofe’s election represents a pivotal moment for the Power Queens Club, as she brings a strong commitment to fostering growth, empowering women, and promoting solidarity within the organisation.

It said, known affectionately as “Sitso,” she had gained admiration for her longstanding dedication to the club and her collaborative spirit.

The statement said Madam Sitsofe’s reputation for fairness, teamwork, and inclusiveness played a crucial role in winning the trust of the delegates who chose her to lead the club into the future.

It said Madam Sitso’s victory was the culmination of a campaign rooted in her vision to make the Power Queens Club a more influential force.

It noted that throughout her career, she had demonstrated a leadership style marked by humility, diligence, and a focus on fairness.

Adding to that her emphasis on inclusivity ensured that all members felt heard, garnering widespread support across the club.

It said with extensive experience in ECG and a passion for women’s empowerment, Sitso was well-positioned to lead the Power Queens Club to new heights.

The statement said she plans to enhance organisational communication, develop mentorship opportunities, and build strategic partnerships to benefit the club and its members.

Regarding Madam Sitsofe’s vision for the future, the statement said she expressed profound gratitude to the delegates and ECG staff in her acceptance speech for their trust and support.

She conveyed her excitement for the future and reaffirmed her commitment to working closely with all members to achieve the club’s shared objectives.

“I am deeply honoured by your confidence and excited for the journey ahead. Together, we will build a stronger, more empowered club that embodies the Power Queens’s strength and unity,” she said.

The statement said as Madam Sitsofe steps into her new role, she had set clear priorities for her first 100 days.

It said these include improving communication channels, launching new empowerment initiatives, and raising the visibility of the club’s projects.

It said her vision was to create an environment where members feel valued, supported, and proud of their contributions.

The statement said under her leadership, the future looks bright for the Power Queens Club, as Madam Sitsope Sah brings purpose, passion, and a forward-thinking agenda to her role as National President.
