The President of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, was a Special Guest of Honour at the inauguration of the brand new Hohoe Sports Stadium, held on Saturday November 30, 2024.
President Simeon-Okraku joined the Member of Parliament for Hohoe, John Peter Amewu, to inaugurate the 7,000 seater Stadium, which can accommodate up to 10,000 spectators.
Other distinguished guests at the event included Ghana legend Abedi Pele and Togbui Gabusu V, Paramount Chief of Gbi Traditional Area.
The new-look Hohoe Sports Stadium is set to give a significant boost to the growth of Access Bank Division One League side, Hohoe United FC, and other lower division clubs in Hohoe and adjoining areas, in particular, and to the community, in general.
The inauguration of the 7,000 capacity venue was made all the more special by a dazzling line up of former Black Stars players, who took on a Hohoe select side in a friendly match to open the brand new edifice.
President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku and Hon. John Peter Amewu performed the ceremonial kick-off.
The new Hohoe Sports Stadium is expected to have a profound impact on the game in the Volta Region, in particular, and Ghana Football in general.
