He is among 777 lawyers who have been called to the Bar on Friday, October 10, 2024 during a ceremony at the Accra International Conference Centre.

Sharing his excitement in a Facebook post about achieving the enviable feat of being one of the newly qualified lawyers, Mr. Wedam concluded in his write up that “I couldn’t be prouder of myself and I’m excited about the future.”

He wrote, “I took a bold decision and committed the last five years of my life to a cause. It took a lot of sacrifices, both material and immaterial, to pull this through. The product is what you see today- Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Ghana, simply, a lawyer. I couldn’t be prouder of myself and I’m excited about the future.”

His presenter, Alfred Ocansey, was there to support.

Denis Pwaberi Wedam Esq. holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from the Ghana Institute of Journalism. He also obtained a Master of Arts – Media Management in 2017 from the School of Graduate Studies and Research, Ghana Institute of Journalism.

He also received full support from anchors and other producers at TV3.

In 2019, he enrolled at the University of Professional Studies School of Law where he graduated with a degree in law (LLB). Mr. Pwaberi Wedam then passed his entrance exams and entered the Ghana School of Law, Makola. He graduated today as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Ghana.

Marking the 61st call to the bar ceremony, Chief Justice, Gertrude Araba Esaaba Sackey Torkornoo, admonished them to be leaders of their communities while consistently refreshing their knowledge in order not to destroy the expectations of society.

She charged them to adapt to the rapid technological trends and further encouraged them to be diligent at all times.

Seven hundred and seventy-seven (777) new lawyers received certificates for successfully undergoing the programme. Martin Waana-Ang was adjudged the overall best student.
