Carlos Queiroz believes Ghana have enough depth to cope with the absence of several key players when they face Cote dIvoire in their opening 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on Thursday.The Black Stars head into the Group C clash in Bouak without Jordan Ayew, Thomas Partey, Mohammed Kudus and Antoine Semenyo, with injuries ruling the quartet out of the encounter.The setbacks have forced Queiroz to rely on a reshuffled squad, but the Portuguese coach insists those selected for the trip have what it takes to rise to the occasion.While admitting that he would prefer to have his strongest squad available, Queiroz said the focus must now be on the players who are fit and ready to play.We dont like to see players injured. We love to see the best players on the pitch all the time. But sometimes its not possible, he said.According to the Ghana coach, the absences should not undermine the teams confidence ahead of a difficult away assignment.The most important players in our team are the ones who are here today. We are a strong team. We have a lot of potential. We have full confidence that the players we have called are ready to perform, Queiroz added.He also believes the current squad provides an opportunity for Ghanas emerging talents to make their mark.What is possible, and what we need, is to be sure that we brought talented players, full of enthusiasm and great talents of Ghana.
