Ghanaian rapper Medikal has revealed that he has quit drinking and smoking, describing the decision as a major step in his personal growth.
In a post on X, he admitted to his past habits. “I used to drink and smoke but trust me, it doesn’t help you grow. Quitting was one of the best decisions I ever made.” He further urged the youth to “Stop drugs, stop self destruction and stay focused.”
His statement comes amid criticism following his appointment as an ambassador for the National Youth Authority’s ‘Red Means Stop’ anti-drug campaign, with some pointing to times he had been seen smoking in public.
As your Red Means Stop Ambassador,I’m not speaking from perfection, I’m speaking from experience.
I used to drink and smoke but trust me, it doesn’t help you grow. Quitting was one of the best decisions I ever made.
