Ghanaian rapper Edem has voiced deep disappointment after his attempts to get fellow artiste Agbeko into professional rehabilitation failed.
Despite multiple interventions and outreach efforts, Agbeko has been unable or unwilling to commit to a structured rehabilitation programme.
Speaking on the matter in an X post on Monday November 17, Edem said the team explored various options and consulted with professionals, but all efforts were ultimately unsuccessful.
Agbeko, known for his hit track Wotome, has previously opened up about the devastating impact of drug addiction on his life.
In an interview with Andy Dosty on Hitz FM’s Afternoon Ride on 28 October 2025, the rapper revealed that his dependence on narcotics left him homeless, wiped out his savings, and caused severe memory loss.

“I was doing drugs, I couldn’t get myself a place anymore; I had no means to. I lost everything that was holding me up, so I found myself on the street,” Agbeko shared.

He explained that, although he earned some money from music and small-scale trading, it was insufficient to sustain him, and addiction gradually consumed his livelihood and dignity.

During that period, Agbeko also suffered serious memory loss, which affected his personal relationships and how others perceived him. He disclosed that his introduction to substance abuse came through a female friend, compounding his struggles.
