Ellen Ama Daaku, communicator for the New Patriotic Party, NPP has disclosed that should the NPP win power, the name of former president, Rawlings would be removed from monuments.

Her comment comes after the majority leader, Mahama Ayariga, speaking in parliament on Tuesday, February 3 disclosed that We are changing the name of our airport from Kotoka International Airport to Accra International Airport”.

According to Mahama Ayariga, “A bill will be brought by the Minister for Transport to facilitate this change. The Accra International Airport bill will also come”.

In her reaction, Ellen noted that the NDC would have a taste of their own medicine when the NPP reclaimed power in the next general election.

According to her, the late Rawlings was once a coup maker, so, it makes no sense that monuments are named after him.

She said “Next NPP administration will also remove Jerry Rawlings’ name from any national monument named after him because he’s also a coup maker.”
