Recreate Sunday’s atmosphere against Berekum Chelsea – Asante Kotoko coach urges fans

Call us

Asante Kotoko head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has called on the clubs supporters to show the same strong backing they displayed in the MTN FA Cup quarterfinal win over True Democracy when the club faces Berekum Chelsea in the Ghana Premier League. The Porcupine Warriors will take on Chelsea on Wednesday, April 2, at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi in a match week 21 match. This comes after their hard-fought 2-1 victory over lower-tier side True Democracy, which secured them a spot in the FA Cup semifinals.Kwame Opoku was the hero for Kotoko, scoring deep into stoppage time in the second half to seal the win.The passionate support from fans at the Baba Yara Stadium played a key role in pushing the team to victory, something Ogum wants to see again in their midweek fixture.Ogum praised the fans commitment and urged them to maintain the same energy against Berekum Chelsea. They [the supporters] should come and behave like the way they behaved on Sunday when we played against True Democracy. They were so hopeful, they were so encouraging, they were very optimistic that we were going to win the game, they knew the goal was going to come so I will plead with them that once theyve gotten into that zone of supporting us, they should keep supporting us in that way.Kotoko will be aiming for another crucial win to boost their league campaign.
