Assistant Commissioner of Police, Dennis Fiakpui has disclosed that refusing to offer one’s partner sex could lead to jail for emotional abuse charges under Ghana’s domestic violence act 732 of 2007.

The Oti Regional deputy commander’s comment came when he was speaking to the Ghana News Agency, monitored by Gh Page.

He noted that women who refuse to have sexual intercourse should be reported to the police, stating that when such women are found guilty, they could be jailed for a maximum of 2 years.

Speaking about men too, ACP Dennis stated that just like women, men should not also deny their partners sex, revealing that they could also be jailed to a maximum of 2 years when found guilty after their partners have reported them.

“If your husband refused to eat your food and make you unhappy and cause you emotional pain, you can also report it to the police and if your husbands come home late and causes you to be unhappy, you can make a case at DOVSSU”, he advised.
