Ghanaian midfielder Samuel Washington-Amoah has signed his first professional contract with Charlton Athletic, committing his future to the club until 2028.
The 17-year-old talent joined Charlton’s academy at U15 level after impressing scouts during a Valley Gold tournament. Since arriving at the club, he has steadily progressed through the youth ranks and has already featured for both the U18 and U21 sides.
Before sealing his move to Charlton, Washington-Amoah also had a trial with Tottenham Hotspur, where he gained valuable experience during his early development.
His strong performances, particularly in the FA Youth Cup, further boosted his reputation within the academy and highlighted his potential.
Sam Washington-Amoah joined Charlton at U15 level and was confirmed as a scholar ahead of the 2024/25 season. The midfielder was part of Kieran Culleton’s U16s side which won the 2023/24 Premier League Professional Development League Cup.
The new contract reflects Charlton’s confidence in the young Ghanaian as he continues his development with the EFL League One side.
