
Ghanaian defender Samuel Owusu delivered a standout performance as Union Omaha thrashed BOHFS St. Louis 80 in the US Open Cup, scoring twice in a dominant away display.The centre-back struck early in the second half and added the final goal in stoppage time to cap a memorable night.Union Omaha were in control from the start, with Gabriel De Freitas opening the scoring on 11 minutes before Sami Guediri and Dylan Borczak made it 30 before the break. Any hopes of a comeback vanished four minutes after half-time when Owusu powered in the fourth, effectively ending the contest.Substitute Sergio Ors then hit a quick-fire brace in the 72nd and 74th minutes, with Pato Faz adding a seventh as St. Louis struggled to cope with the visitors intensity and movement. Deep into the 90th minute, Owusu popped up again to complete his brace and round off the scoring.Owusu earned man of the match honours after the game.Union Omaha now turn their focus back to USL League One, where they host Boise on Sunday, March 22.
