FC Savannah and Sung Shinning Ladies made it four wins out of four to qualify for the 2024/2025 Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League season with a game to spare. Both teams have been absolutely sensational in the promotional League having gotten off to a perfect start to the competition in Winkogo.

FC Savannah defeated city rivals, Nasara Ladies 2:0 on Thursday to clinch a Premier League return while Sung Shinning Ladies had to dig deep to overcome Candy Soccer Academy Ladies. Nasara Ladies started the game the better side creating goal scoring chances as FC Savannah made little impact in the opening minutes to end the first half 0:0.

Tima Asiedu gave FC Savannah the lead in the 52nd minute before Matilda Baah extended the lead to end the game 2:0 for the Tamale Ladies. The result puts FC Savannah on top of the table with 12 points – with a resounding unbeaten record.

Meanwhile, Fabulous Ladies picked their first win of the championship by thrashing Bolga All stars Ladies 8:1. The Kumasi based team went into the game in search of their first win following a winless run in their first three games. Franklina Onyinah scored a haul as Samira Musah, Miracle Addai and Charity Mensah got on the scoresheet before Patience Zakaria grabbed the consolation for the Bolga based team in the 90th minute. Bolga All stars Ladies are rooted at the bottom of the Regional championship table with no point having conceded 24 goals in four matches.

Finally on Thursday, Candy Soccer Academy faced a well drilled Sung Shinning Ladies looking for a win to boost their Women’s Premier League hopes. But their hopes were dashed in the 72nd minute after Angelina Kur fired home the match winner for Sung Shinning Ladies after capitalizing on a goalkeeping howler.

Sung Shinning Ladies join FC Savannah at the top of the table with 12 points – going into the last game in the championship.
