The second edition of the University of Ghana Corporate Football League (UGCFL) was officially unveiled on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at the University of Ghana Stadium VIP Lounge.

The press launch drew participating corporate institutions, invited guests, and media representatives to reveal plans for the 2026 season, running from February to June. This event signals the start of another thrilling chapter in the league’s growing legacy, following a debut year packed with passion and intensity.

Board Chairman of the National Sports Authority, Dr. Fred Awaah, voiced strong optimism for the league’s expansion. “We believe that in the years to come, this league should take on a bigger dimension. Nothing succeeds in this era without collaboration,” he declared.

Dr. Awaah urged corporate Ghana, alongside the University of Ghana, National Sports Authority, and Ministry of Sports and Recreation, to unite in elevating the nation’s sports scene.

University of Ghana Vice-Chancellor, Professor Nana Aba Appiah Amfo, echoed the call to action, encouraging companies to join early.

“If you are not part of this edition, I urge you to start your registration now for next year because it will get so big there will be a cut-off point,” she advised. Her words highlight the league’s rising popularity and professional organization.

Building on 2025’s memorable moments, the 2026 UGCFL promises fiercer competition and polished execution. Matches will kick off on February 13, 2026, with Friday evening fixtures from 5pm to 10pm at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium, delivering reliable action for fans throughout the season.
