Senegals legal team has stated that there is no official ruling ordering the return of the Africa Cup of Nations trophy, despite the decision to overturn the final result.Speaking publicly, lawyer Maitre Seydou Diagne disclosed that Morocco made four key requests during both the initial proceedings and the appeal.According to Diagne, Morocco asked for Senegal to be declared as having withdrawn from the match, for a 3-0 victory to be awarded, for Senegal to be stripped of the title, and for the trophy, medals and prize money to be handed over. However, he revealed that not all of those requests were upheld.”The last two requests were rejected. In the official decision we received, the Appeals Jury dismissed those two demands,” Diagne said.He stressed that, based on the ruling communicated to Senegal, there is no directive requiring the return of the trophy or medals.”As of today, there is no ruling from the Appeals Jury ordering the return of the medals or the trophy,” he added. The clarification adds a new dimension to the ongoing dispute between Senegal and the Confederation of African Football, with the case now expected to be settled at the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
