Charles Nii Armah Mensah, widely known by his stage name Shatta Wale, has achieved another milestone in his illustrious music career by making his debut on the US Billboard Afrobeats Songs Top 50 chart.

His hit song “On God” secured the 35th spot, marking a joyful for the African Dancehall King.

This achievement makes Shatta Wale the third Ghanaian artist to appear on the prestigious chart.

The Billboard US Afrobeats Songs chart, introduced in March 2022, tracks the most popular Afrobeats songs in the United States based on a combination of streaming data, radio airplay, and sales metrics.

The chart celebrates the global rise of Afrobeats, a genre that has gained global acceptance, with influences spanning traditional African rhythms, pop, hip-hop, and dancehall.

Currently topping the chart is South African sensation Tyla with her track “Push to Start.”

The chart features some of the biggest names in African music, including Burna Boy, Wizkid, Tems, and Rema.
For a Ghanaian artist to break into this space demonstrates not just the artist’s prowess but also Ghana’s growing influence on the global music stage.
