Sod-cutting for construction of Nkawkaw sports stadium slated for September 4

The National Sports Authority has announced there will be a sod-cutting ceremony at the Nkawkaw sports stadium on September 4 to kick start construction works at the site.

The NSA said the Minister of Youth and Sports, Isaac Asiamah, will do the sod-cutting at 10:00 AM on Friday, September 4th.

This was contained in a brief statement on its Twitter handle;

It reads: “Hon Isaac Asiamah, Minister of Youth and Sports, will cut sod on FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 4, 2020 at 10:00 AM for construction work to begin at the Nkawkaw Sports Stadium, which has been abandoned for nearly 25 years.

“This project forms part of the Government’s broader program on Sports Infrastructure Development across the country. Already, 10 of such stadiums are nearing completion.

“He will be supported by the leadership of the National Sports Authority, MBDA, the RCC, and the Traditional Area.”
