President Lee Jae Myung of South Korea has expressed optimism that President John Dramani Mahama’s visit to his country will produce concrete outcomes benefiting both Ghana and South Korea.
He made the remarks during his welcome address at a summit held on Wednesday, March 11, in Seoul.
“I hope that President Mahama’s visit to South Korea will serve as an opportunity to generate tangible outcomes of cooperation that the peoples of both countries can truly feel,” reported Yonhap News Agency.
President Lee highlighted the remarkable results already achieved in cooperation across sectors such as maritime security, trade, and agriculture.
“The two countries have achieved remarkable results in cooperation across various fields, including maritime security, trade and agriculture,” he said.
The visit is expected to further strengthen bilateral ties and pave the way for enhanced collaboration in strategic areas, including technology, climate action, and economic development.
President Mahama arrived in South Korea on Tuesday, 11 March, for a four-day working visit. During his stay, he is expected to hold bilateral talks with President Lee Jae Myung and meet the Speaker of the National Assembly, Woo Won-shik, focusing on strengthening diplomatic and economic relations between the two countries.
As part of the visit, President Mahama will also engage with Ghanaian students, professionals, and residents in South Korea, providing an opportunity for the Ghanaian community to share experiences and concerns while strengthening ties with the government.
