Spain will face France in the men’s Olympic football final after staging a dramatic 2-1 comeback victory over Morocco in the semi-finals.

Morocco’s tournament top scorer, Soufiane Rahimi, put his team ahead with a penalty in the first half, marking his sixth goal of the Games.

However, Spain responded in the second half as Barcelona’s Fermin Lopez equalised by capitalizing on a loose ball in the penalty area.

With just five minutes remaining, substitute Juanlu Sanchez delivered the decisive blow, drilling home the winner to secure Spain’s place in the final.

In the other semi-final, France overcame Egypt 3-1 after extra time, setting up a highly anticipated showdown with Spain in Paris on Friday at 20:00 BST.

Morocco will now face Egypt in the bronze medal match in Nantes on Thursday.

They began their campaign with a 2-1 win over Uzbekistan before securing qualification with a second win over Dominican Republic despite losing their final group game to Egypt.

A 3-0 win over Japan saw them progress from the quarterfinals to book a date with Morocco on Monday.

The European giants will be hoping to secure another trophy having won the Euro 2024.
