St. Johnstone FC manager Craig Levein has expressed his confidence in the potential of Ghanaian youngster Aaron Essel, who recently signed with the club.
The 18-year-old, capable of playing both in midfield and defense, has committed to a three-year contract at McDiarmid Park, pending international clearance.
Aaron Essel, formerly of Bechem United, showcased his talent as a trialist in a match against Arbroath on Saturday. Levein, speaking to Saints TV, highlighted Essel’s versatility and skillset. “Aaron is a young lad who has potential and he has a lot of the required skillsets to be a good player. He trained with us for about 10 days towards the end of last season and did really well,” said Levein.
Levein further noted Essel’s ability to play in multiple positions, including central midfield, full-back, and center-back. “As we saw on Saturday against Arbroath, he can play in centre midfield. But he can also play full-back and at centre-back. We will see what time brings but he has impressed with his all-round ability,” he added.
