Stade Rennais defender Alidu Seidu has arrived at Ghana’s camp to participate in the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Mali and the Central African Republic (CAR).
The former Clermont Foot defender was among the first group of players to arrive at the camp on Thursday.
The Black Stars are set to face Mali on June 6, 2024, at the Stade du 26 Mars in Bamako. This match marks the third round of qualifying for the Canada and USA World Cup. Following this, Ghana will return home to play against the Central African Republic in the fourth-round match at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on June 10, 2024.
Ghana’s qualifying campaign began with a narrow 1-0 victory over Madagascar in Kumasi. However, they suffered a setback in the second group game, losing by the same score to Comoros. Currently, Ghana is in fourth place in Group I with three points, trailing three points behind the group leaders, Comoros.
The arrival of Alidu Seidu is expected to bolster Ghana’s defense as they prepare for these critical qualifying matches.
