Afro-dancehall artist Ridwan Abdul Rafiu well known as Larruso has identified the two main originators of Afro-dancehall music..
The Bhim Nation President, Stonebwoy, and the Nigerian legend, Burna Boy, according to Larruso, are the creators of Afro-dancehall music.
This was said during an interview on Okay FM’s Ekwansodwodwo segment with the legendary media personality Gilbert Abeiku Aggrey Santana.
Larruso also said that the language barrier is the only reason why Afrobeat has attracted so much more attention than Dancehall music.
He claimed that whereas Dancehall music, which is mostly created in the Jamaican language, is not relevant to everyone, Afrobeat music, which is composed in English, is.
“Afrobeat is English and it relates to everybody and I think that is more reason why it is getting the attention. And dancehall, plenty of people don’t know patois and that is the reason why Afrobeat is taking over” he said.
