Market women in Suhum have appealed to the incumbent Member of Parliament, Hon. Asnate Kwadjo Boafo, to reconsider his decision to contest as an independent candidate in the upcoming election.
They are urging him to instead support the New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate, Frank Asiedu Bekoe, popularly known as Protozoa, who won the party’s primaries.
The women are concerned that an independent bid by Boafo could jeopardize the NPP’s chances of retaining the Suhum seat, which they consider a party stronghold.
They have also called on the national and regional executives of the NPP to intervene to maintain unity and secure victory in the election.
