Queens Of Sunyani Traditional Council

The Acting President of the Sunyani Traditional Council, Nana Kwaku Sarbeng Ababio II, has called on residents of Sunyani to remain calm and continue their daily activities without fear, despite recent developments involving internal disagreements among members of the Boahen Korkor Royal Family.

Addressing the media at a press conference held at the old palace, Nana Sarbeng emphasized that the current misunderstanding within the royal family will not be allowed to disturb the peace and stability the people of Sunyani continue to enjoy.

He assured the public that the Sunyani Traditional Council remains firmly united behind Odeefour Ogyeamansan Boahen Korkor II as the legitimate Paramount Chief of Sunyani, a position that has been duly recognized and endorsed by the Bono Regional House of Chiefs.

“Sunyani has accepted Odeefour Ogyeamansan Boahen Korkor II, and that shall it be,” Nana Sarbeng stated firmly, urging all citizens to disregard distractions that could undermine the area’s unity and progress.

He further appealed to media houses, particularly those operating within Sunyani, to remain professional and sensitive in their reportage.

He reminded journalists of their critical role in maintaining peace and harmony, cautioning against allowing their platforms to be used to inflame passions or promote chaos.

“The media and the Traditional Council have always enjoyed a harmonious relationship. We urge our friends in the media to continue being partners in peace. Let your content reflect that responsibility,” he advised.

Nana Sarbeng also issued a strong warning to individuals who may attempt to foment trouble, saying that the Council, in collaboration with the appropriate authorities, will not hesitate to take action against anyone whose conduct threatens the peace and security of the area.

He concluded by encouraging residents to stay focused on their work and development, adding that the Traditional Council is committed to protecting the dignity and calm that define the Sunyani Traditional Area.
