Techiman Eleven Wonders midfielder, Ollenu Ashitey, has said he’s hopeful his side will beat Kumasi Asante Kotoko in matchday one of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League season.
Ashitey joined Eleven Wonders in the ongoing Ghana Premier League transfer window. He spent the 2019/20 season with Accra Great Olympics, playing just two matches.
The 26-year-old former Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak midfielder believes his true talent will be shown in the game against Kotoko, having had a failed stint with the Porcupine Warriors in 2017.
“Let me state clearly that I cannot play alone against Kotoko but expect the real Ollenu Ashitey performance that day,” he told Akoma FM.
“If everything goes well in that game, you will see the new Ollenu Ashitey who has joined Eleven Wonders.
“I’m an Eleven Wonders player now and I will score against Asante Kotoko, trust me.
“I have high hopes and if my colleagues will have the same, we will easily beat Kotoko.
“Kotoko will underestimate us and that is when we shall surprise them in the opening match.
“If the day comes, I will just motivate my teammates to go all out because we all the same players on the field.”
His stay at Kotoko was cut-short when the club was involved in an accident in 2017 while returning to Kumasi after honouring a Ghana Premier League game against Inter Allies.
