Tema Community 25 Lions Club inducted its officers for the 2025/2026 service year during a ceremony held at Alisa Hotel – Tema on Friday, June 27.
The event marked the formal transition of leadership within the club, part of Lions Clubs District 418 Ghana. District Governor Lion Helena presided over the installation of key officers for the upcoming year.
Lion Dr. Ralph Nii Okai Tettey-Amlalo (MJF) was installed as Club President, while Lion Nana Yaw Boadi Appiah assumed the role of Charter Club President. Outgoing President Lion Kwame Bruce Kporvie delivered a welcome address, expressing gratitude and outlining the club’s vision. He presented the club’s statutory report, detailing achievements from the previous service year.
District Governor Lion Helena formally charged the new officers with their responsibilities. She emphasized the President’s role as Chief Executive Officer, stating, “Lion Ralph, you have been appointed as the President of your club. Your success is a reflection of your club’s success. Now is the time to continue building your club… so that it may be an example to other clubs and a credit to the community, the district and to Lions Clubs International.”
In his acceptance speech, President Lion Dr. Tettey-Amlalo acknowledged supporters and shared his vision. “As I begin this new chapter of leadership, I do so with a theme that reflects both our roots and our aspirations: ‘Rise to Lead, Reach to Serve, Strive for Excellence’. This theme is a vision and a reminder that the best of who we are is yet to come,” he declared. The club maintains over 30 active members.
Special Guest of Honour Patience Ami Mamattah, Municipal Director of Health Services for Ningo-Prampram, commended the club’s community impact. She specifically highlighted the near-completion of a state-of-the-art eye clinic in Prampram, a major legacy project. “The acts of kindness you offer through service to the community are invaluable. It is through your compassion that we are able to reach those who need help,” Mamattah remarked.
The installation ceremony also functioned as a successful fundraiser for the Prampram Eye Clinic. Attendees contributed GH¢50,000, securing funds necessary for the project’s complete roofing and supply costs. The club continues its focus on community service initiatives within the Tema area and beyond.
