The Liquor Industry Wants Excise Tax Deferment

The Alcohol industry wants excise taxes to be deferred until the ban on liquor is lifted as it is very difficult to pay such taxes when theres no revenue.

“The reason why we need a deferment is from a cash flow perspective,” says Rico Basson, managing director of Vinpro. The wine industry alone has lost around R8-billion in direct sales revenue due to the ban.
