Ghana E-Sports Federation has officially been granted the licence by the National Sports Authority to operate as the sole governing body of E-Sports in Ghana. Electronic gaming has been one of the most cherished sports in recent years.

With proper steps followed and taken through systematic review and signing of documents, the E-Sports Federation will fully take charge of all electronic gaming sports in the country.

This initiative by the NSA and the E-Sports Federation is aimed at targeting and discovering young talent who are passionate and skilled in electronic games with a well-structured format, which will go a long way towards improving sports in Ghana.

On February 2024, the President of the E-Sports Federation, Igor Boumekpo, held a meeting with the NSA to outline the plans and mission his federation has stored and is ready to implement in order to help improve E-Sports in Ghana.

Although plans were outlined some months ago by the federation, the NSA had to take its time before making any decision. After thorough checks and hearings, the NSA eventually approved the proposal.

E-Sports Federation Ghana has already made a significant impact in the Ghanaian gaming community with some notable seminars, conferences, and events organised to shape young talent on the professional use of their e-gaming talent.
