In the lead-up to the Ghana Digital & Innovation Week (GDIW) 2024, a nationwide series of events that celebrate and showcase the achievements and potentials of Ghana’s digital innovation ecosystem will host a series of regional events dubbed “The Road to GDIW,”.
This is designed to highlight and celebrate digital innovation in Tamale, Wa, Kumasi, Techiman, Koforidua, and Takoradi, all in the Northern, Upper West, Ashanti, Bono East, Eastern, and Western regions ahead of the major event to be held at the Accra International Conference Centre from the 2nd to 4th, October 2024.
The purpose of the regional event is to facilitate dialogue, exchange best practices, and ensure collaborative action among diverse stakeholders including government agencies, civil society organisations, academia, private sector entities, Traditional Authorities and community representatives.
The Road To GDIW
The road to GDIW will begin in Tamale, the Northern regional capital on September 3, 2024, at Radach Hotel. It will be hosted by Hopin Academy, a leading Tamale-based for-profit educational organization that specializes in training online marketing, social media communication, and web communications.
Following Temale is Wa in the Upper West regional capital. This will be held at the Wa Regional Library on 5th September 2024. The event in the region will be hosted by a leading local Information Technology (IT) firm, Noni Hub. After that, Ghana’s second-largest city, Kumasi in the Ashanti Region will host the GDIW team hosted by She Hub Ghana, an organization dedicated to economic and social empowerment of women, youth, and rural communities at the Great Hall of Kumasi Technical University on the 10th September.
Techiman, in the Bono East regional capital, is next and it will be held on 12th September at the Bonokyempem Hall. It will be hosted by AgriCo Hub, a business and digital innovation hub that uses innovative business development and digital technology solutions to support early-stage entrepreneurs, and Small and Growing Businesses (SGBs) in agribusiness, trade and commerce.
The Eastern and Western regions will wrap up the series with events in Koforidua on September 17 at GNAT Hall, hosted by Jokoem Consulting Group, which delivers a wide range of integrated human capital solutions that focus on private and public sector growth. Takoradi is on September 19 at the Takoradi Mall, hosted by Duapa Workspace, a leading skills development and entrepreneurship hub.
Each regional event will feature innovation exhibitions, networking opportunities, and collaborative problem-solving sessions to foster partnerships among stakeholders.
Attendees will include government officials, civil society organizations, academia, private sector entities, traditional authorities, and community representatives, all coming together to celebrate local digital solutions and explore emerging opportunities in the innovation landscape.
