Former Tamale Central MP and ex-Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Inusah Fuseini, has defended the use of a private jet belonging to the president’s brother for official travels.
Speaking on Newsfile on JoyNews on Saturday, Mr Fuseini said there was nothing inherently wrong with John Dramani Mahama using the private jet of his brother, Ibrahim Mahama, for state trips.
His comments come amid ongoing public backlash following reports that the president has been travelling on his brother’s newly acquired private jet for some official engagements.
“There is nothing absolutely wrong with it,” he said.

Also on the show, the Chief Executive Officer of Dalex, Joe Jackson, maintained that the arrangement in itself should not be considered problematic, suggesting that the focus of the debate should rather be on whether due processes and transparency are maintained in such decisions.
But Kofi Bentil, lawyer and Senior Vice President of IMANI Africa, has condemned President Mahama’s use of his brother’s private aircraft.
