Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey, currently with Spanish club Villarreal, has been charged with two new counts of rape by the UK’s Crown Prosecution Service (CPS).
The 32-year-old, who previously played for Arsenal, is already set for a trial in November on earlier charges of five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault involving three women.

The new charges are linked to a separate investigation by the Metropolitan Police, stemming from non-recent offences. Partey is scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on 13 March. Despite these legal proceedings, he remains on bail and continues to play professionally, with conditions including advance police notification for international travel and restrictions on contacting the complainants.
Partey, who remains an active member of the Ghana national team, is expected to participate in the upcoming World Cup in the United States. The legal process in the UK is ongoing.
