A 45-year-old TikTok content creator known as “Duabo King” has been arrested by the Ashanti Regional Police Command for allegedly spreading false information about police officers and the President of the Republic.

Isaac Boafo, who goes by the online moniker “Duabo King,” was apprehended by officers from the Police Intelligence Directorate in the Ashanti Region.

According to the police, the arrest followed a viral TikTok video in which he alleged that four officers at the Central Police Station in Kumasi had engaged in inappropriate sexual conduct with commercial sex workers during night patrol duties at Asafo.

The claims, which gained significant traction online, were found to be completely unsubstantiated. During interrogation, Boafo admitted to fabricating the allegations solely to boost views and engagement on his platform.

“During interrogation, Isaac Boafo admitted to publishing the video and stated that he is a social media content creator who made the allegations solely to attract views and online engagement,” the Ashanti Regional Police Command stated in a press release dated March 1, 2026.

“He further admitted that he could not substantiate the claims made against the officers.”

In addition to the accusations against the police, Boafo confessed to making unverified statements about President Mahama, again citing content creation as his motive. He acknowledged being unable to provide any evidence to support those remarks.

Boafo has been formally charged and is currently in custody to aid ongoing investigations.

The police used the opportunity to issue a strong warning to the public.
