Veteran Ghanaian rapper Tinny is set to headline the finals of the 2026 National Individual Amateur Boxing Championship at the Bukom Boxing Arena on Friday, 27 February.

The event, organized by the Ghana Boxing Federation (GBF), will feature 24 fighters contesting 12 weight divisions from 6pm. Beyond national honours, the championship will serve as the main selection platform for Ghana’s Black Bombers team ahead of major international assignments, including the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow and qualifiers for the Youth Olympic Games in Dakar.

Wisdom Boxing Club enters the finals as the standout team, securing places in five weight categories after an impressive run in the preliminaries. An all-Wisdom clash in the light welterweight division is expected to be one of the headline bouts.

The preliminary stage drew 145 boxers from across the country, including representatives from the security services. The tournament has received support from corporate sponsors and backing from the Ghana Olympic Committee and the National Sports Authority.

Organizers anticipate a packed arena, blending elite amateur boxing with live musical entertainment.
