Tragedy has struck the community of Sefwi Akrofu near Sefwi Boako in the Western North Region, where two brothers were brutally stabbed to death in what police describe as a case of mistaken identity fueled by jealousy.

The victims, 23-year-old Yaw Clinton and his 19-year-old brother, Kofi Nsowa, lost their lives following a violent confrontation linked to a suspected love rivalry.

According to reports, a young man from Sankore had suspected that his romantic rival had taken his girlfriend to a wake-keeping event in Akrofu using a green Pragya (motorised tricycle). Acting on this suspicion, he reportedly mobilised a group and travelled to the area to confront the alleged rival.

However, by the time they arrived, the supposed rival had already fled the scene with the woman.

In a tragic turn of events, the suspect mistakenly identified Yaw Clinton—who was driving a similar green Pragya—as the person he was pursuing.

Eyewitness accounts indicate that the suspect pulled out a concealed knife and launched a violent attack on Yaw Clinton, stabbing him multiple times.

The young man reportedly collapsed at the scene due to the severity of his injuries.

In an attempt to defend his brother, Kofi Nsowa intervened but was also attacked. The suspect allegedly turned the knife on him and inflicted multiple stab wounds.

Both victims were rushed to the Boako Clinic for emergency medical attention. However, they were pronounced dead on arrival.

The double killing has left residents in shock, with many expressing grief over the loss of the two young men.

Following the attack, the suspect fled the scene and is currently at large. Police in Sefwi Wiawso have since launched a manhunt to apprehend him and bring him to justice.

Authorities are appealing to the public to provide any information that could assist in locating the suspect as investigations continue.
