Two students of Swedru Senior High School (SWESCO) have captured widespread admiration for their remarkable display of integrity and good moral conduct.
The duo, whose names have not yet been disclosed, returned a lost purse containing an unspecified amount of money, setting an inspiring example for their peers in the school.
The commendable act took center stage during the school’s Monday morning assembly on January 13, 2025, where the Headmistress, Ms. Golda Esi Andam, publicly lauded the students.
A video capturing the event has since gone viral, drawing praise from social media users and members of the public for the students’ exemplary behaviour.
According to reports, the two students discovered the purse within the school’s premises and immediately turned it over to the school authorities rather than keeping it for themselves.
Their selfless decision ensured the rightful owner of the purse had the opportunity to retrieve their lost property.
In her speech during the assembly, Ms. Andam expressed her pride in the students’ actions, describing their behaviour as exceptional and worth emulating.
“These are students who found money and decided to bring the money to the authorities to be announced for the owners, and I was surprised,” she remarked, her tone filled with admiration.
To reinforce the significance of the students’ actions and encourage others to follow suit, Ms. Andam presented them with a cash reward during the assembly.
She described the gesture as a token of appreciation and a way to motivate other students to uphold similar virtues.
