A group of students from the University of Ghana, under the banner ‘Gen Zs for Daddy Lumba,’ has announced a vigil in honour of the late Ghanaian music legend, Charles Kojo Fosu widely known as Daddy Lumba.
The event is scheduled to take place tonight, Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at 7 PM at the forecourt of the James Topp Nelson Yankah Hall, also known as TF Hostel, on the university’s Legon campus.
The group says the vigil is their way of paying tribute to the iconic musician whose timeless songs have impacted generations, including the youth of today.
Daddy Lumba, known passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2025. His death has sparked an outpouring of grief nationwide, with tributes pouring in from fans, musicians, politicians, and industry stakeholders.
