World renowned action movie actor, Jean-Claude Van Damme, has reportedly been accused of knowingly engaging in sexual relations with Romanian women who were allegedly trafficked by an organised crime group. According to CNN affiliate Antena 3, Romania’s Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) has filed a criminal complaint against Van Damme.
The alleged incident took place in Cannes, where Antena 3 claims Van Damme received five Romanian women as a “gift” from the traffickers.
Adrian Cuculis, a lawyer representing one of the victims, stated that the women were in a vulnerable state and may have been exploited under Article 182 of Romania’s Criminal Code, which addresses human trafficking and exploitation.
In a translated statement to Antena 3, Cuculis elaborated: “Several Romanians, currently under investigation for forming a criminal group and pimping, allegedly provided Jean-Claude Van Damme with five Romanian women, photographic models in Romania, for sexual relations.
The individual who received these benefits was aware of their condition.”
Van Damme has not yet made a public statement regarding the allegations.
