Veteran Ghanaian journalist and the Apagyahene of Tafo Eti in the Eastern Region,Nana Kwasi Gyan-Apenteng, has passed away.
The renowned writer and journalist , died in London on May 26, 2025, at age 74, following a brief battle with cancer. He was the former editor and columnist of The Mirror weekly newspaper and served as deputy editor of the London-based West Africa magazine in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
Returning to Ghana in the 1990s, he led the communication unit and edited Africa Agenda for the Third World Network.
Nana Gyan-Apenteng also worked as a media trainer and communication consultant for organisations including MTN, UN agencies, the Media Foundation for West Africa, and STAR Ghana. A graduate of Apam Secondary School and the University of Ghana, Legon, he is survived by six children. Funeral arrangements will be announced by the family in the coming days.
