The 2024 Division One League Super Cup final will see newly promoted Premier League side Vision FC battle it out against Okwahu United.
For the first time, the Brong Ahafo Region hosted the 2024 edition, which saw the participation of Vision FC, Young Apostles, and Basake Holy Stars. They were joined by the second and third-placed teams from the zones: Okwahu United, Hohoe United, Techiman Heroes, Holy Stars, and Liberty Professionals.
Since its inception, the Super Cup has drawn some level of attention and provided entertainment during the off-season.
The Division One banter and competitiveness always shoot to another level when the time is due.
The tournament features the champions and runners-up from each of the three Division One League zones, along with the two best third-placed teams across these zones.
The teams were divided into two groups of four. After the group stage matches, Okwahu United, Techiman Heroes, Young Apostles, and Vision FC emerged as the semi-finalists.
In the semi-finals, Okwahu United faced Techiman Heroes, while the two newly promoted Ghana Premier League teams, Vision FC and Young Apostles, battled for the remaining spot in the final.
The first semi-final on Thursday saw Okwahu United secure a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Techiman Heroes, while Vision FC advanced to the final after a goalless draw with Young Apostles was settled by a 4-3 penalty shootout victory.
This competition serves a dual purpose: it prepares the zonal champions for their upcoming Premier League experience while offering valuable pre-season preparation for the other participating teams ahead of the new Division One League season.
Although Young Apostles and Techiman Heroes didn’t reach the final, they still have a chance to secure a medal in Saturday’s bronze medal match.

All eyes are now on Sunday’s final at the Nana Kronamansah Park, where Vision FC and Okwahu United will go head-to-head for the coveted trophy.
Vision FC have already secured their Premier League spot and winning this would cement and propel their mission ahead of the upcoming season.
For Okwahu United, this might just be the kind of moment they need to lead the charge for a Premier League return for over a decade.
