The Director of Communications of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Richard Ahiagbah has said that the positive economic growth path in Ghana’s economy will accelerate to improve conditions for Ghanaians under a Bawumia presidency.
To that end, he has appealed to Ghanaians to vote for the presidential candidate of the NPP Dr Mahamudu Bawumia for accelerated economic growth.
His comment comes at a time when international rating agency, Fitch Solutions has forecast that Ghana’s economic growth will rise from 2.9% in 2023 to a three-year high of 5.5% in 2024.
According to the latest data from the Ghana Statistical Service, the economy grew by a robust 6.9% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2024, following a solid 4.8% growth in the first quarter.
Commenting on this on his X platform, Ahiagbah said “H.E. President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo said it, and it is happening: “we know how to bring back the economy….”
“Ghana’s economy is projected to grow 5.5% in 2024. This is nearly a 100% turnaround from the 2023 performance of 2.9%. The economy is moving in the right direction, and with Bawumia in the driver’s seat from 7th January 2025, this positive growth path will accelerate to improve conditions for Ghanaians.
“Vote for Bawumia for accelerated economic growth. Bawumia means business.”
