Tamale City head coach, Hamza Mohammed has complained of bad refereeing decisions in his team’s 1-1 draw against Asante Kotoko which he believes robbed them of the full points.

Tamale City went into the game with full confidence having already thumped Hearts of Oak 4-1 in their previous fixture but only had to settle for a draw at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday night.

Kotoko midfielder Rocky Dwamena with a magnificent strike marched his team into the lead in the 36th minute as the Porcupines hoped to bounce back from a defeat they suffered during the week against Great Olympics.

However, the Tamale-based club equalised a few minutes later through Mohammed Yahaya, who took advantage of a poorly organised defence of Kotoko.

After the game, Hamza Mohammed was rather unsatisfied with the outcome indicating that the end result was not a true reflection of his team’s performance. According to him, some unfortunate decisions from the officials denied them the maximum points.

“It’s never a true reflection of the game, it’s obvious, everyone has seen it but what can we do, they are the officiating officials, it’s clear and we are happy the match was live, everyone has seen it. We will just take the one point like that and go and prepare for our next game.”

“Sure, it’s obvious. In the first half, a goal was disallowed. I don’t know but what about the second one?” he quizzed.

“But anyway they are officials so we will just take it just like that and prepare for the next match.”

Tamale City are now 16th in the league table with 36 points after 29 games, and their next game will be against King Faisal at the Aliu Mahama Stadium on Saturday.
