Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has taken his turn on GBC’s Presidential Encounters, a collaboration with STAR Ghana Foundation where he diagnosed the current challenges confronting Ghana, describing them as two-prong: the Economy and Governance crisis.

According to Mr. Mahama, if given the nod on December 7 to become President, the NDC will push for Constitutional Review to clearly define the clauses in the Constitution to avoid people “running to the Courts for interpretation”.

The NDC Flagbearer was referring in particular to Ghana’s 8th Parliament of the Fourth Republic, which concluded abruptly following a misunderstanding over who constituted the Majority in the House following what had been described by experts as the vacation of seats by four Parliamentarians.

During the Presidential Encounter, Mr. Mahama adduced that Ghana is ‘’at a critical time of economic crisis’’, and not only a crisis of the economy, but also of governance and the next government must ‘’take decisions on both the economy and of governance’’, some of the clauses in the Constitution must be clearly defined, ‘’so we do not have to run to the Supreme Court for Review’’, the NDC Flag bearer stated.
