The presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Former President John Dramani Mahama has reiterated his resolve to reset Ghana’s economy which he said had been destroyed by the Akufo-Addo administration.
He says he will make the economy work for all of us, not just a privileged few, “as is the case with Akufo-Addo and Bawumia.”
“With the increasing unemployment challenge and rising prices of food and other essential commodities, I assure my fellow Ghanaians that I will implement the 24-hour economy policy as promised.”
“This initiative is crucial to creating jobs, boosting growth, and tackling the rising prices of food, fuel, and other commodities that impact our daily lives.
“We will Reset our damaged economy and ensure that it works for all of us, not just a privileged few, as is the case with Akufo-Addo and Bawumia. Together, we will build the Ghana we want,” he wrote on his Facebook page.
Mr Mahama further said that Ghanaians are determined to campaign with the NDC for change on December 7.
He described this as “reassuring”.
Mr Mahama said this on his Facebook page after combing through four constituencies—Ablekuma North, Ablekuma Central, Ablekuma West and Ablekuma South—on Friday, September 27.
“I made two solemn pledges to the people: First, as President, I will work 24/7 for you. This is not just a promise but a commitment I take to heart. Your aspirations, needs, and concerns you shared during my interactions will guide my actions, and I will be there for you, always.
“Secondly, I will always tell you the truth. Transparency will be my guiding principle in good times and challenging times. When things go well, I will celebrate with you. And when we face difficulties, I will be honest about the situation,” he wrote.
