The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has denied claims made by Kwame Asare Obeng, commonly known as A-Plus, that the party sought his collaboration after he was elected as the Independent Member of Parliament for the Gomoa Central Constituency in the Central Region.

In a press statement released on Monday, January 6, 2025, the NPP clarified its stance, asserting that no such discussions had occurred. The statement, signed by the party’s General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, firmly rejected any claims that authorized anyone to negotiate with A-Plus on behalf of the party.

The NPP stressed that any opposing assertions were unfounded and should be disregarded. “We want to make it clear that the New Patriotic Party has not engaged with A-Plus or authorized anyone to negotiate with him on our behalf,” the statement read.

This denial comes in response to A-Plus’s allegations made in a social media post, where he claimed that the NPP, under the leadership of Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, had approached him with a collaboration proposal.

A-Plus stated that the offer included a commitment from the NPP not to contest the Gomoa Central parliamentary seat in the 2028 elections if he aligned with them in Parliament.
