A six-day capacity-building program for female football administrators in Ghana’s Regional Women’s Division One Leagues has come to a close. The program, a collaboration between FIFA and the Ghana Football Association (GFA), aimed to equip participants with leadership, strategic planning, communication, marketing, and sponsorship skills.

The Key Highlights include:

  • Two sessions: The program was run in two sessions for the Northern and Southern Zones from September 9-14.

  • Expert instructors: FIFA instructors Thubaelihle Bridgette Sibanda and Michelle Jane Kerr led the training, supported by GFA officials.

  • Emphasis on implementation: Participants were urged to apply the knowledge acquired in managing their clubs.

  • Commitment to grass-root development: The program highlights GFA’s commitment to grass-root football development and sets the tone for future initiatives.

  • Call to be agents of change: FIFA instructors encouraged participants to be agents of change and utilize the knowledge gathered.

The Executive Council plans to provide more avenues for knowledge sharing and make such training programs accessible to more women at the grass-root level, reflecting a broader vision for the future.
