Yango Group, a global tech company that creates daily services, launches Yango Education programme in Ghana.
This initiative aims to offer all Ghanaians aged 18 and above who have completed basic education free access to online introductory data analytics courses.
This comes at a time when technology is at the heart of almost every human endeavor and the country keeps growing in the digital landscape.
Yango Education offers all Ghanaians the chance to delve into the basics of data analysis in a world where digital technology is a crucial part of business operations.
By learning how to collect, analyze, and present data on business growth, users develop a skill that helps with their personal and professional career developments, make them competitive in the job market, enable career growth opportunities and enhance their decision-making skills.
“We are excited to announce the commencement of the Yango Education Programme in Ghana after successful launches in Zambia and Ivory Coast. With this program, we aim to offer free IT courses, empowering individuals to succeed in the digital economy. Education is a powerful tool for driving innovation and fostering growth, and at Yango, we are committed to supporting the talents of Ghana. We anticipate a positive impact on the entire Ghanaian community by offering these free IT courses”, Tom Ofonime, Country Manager for Yango in Ghana, said.
Yango will provide free access to an online education course in Python and SQL data analysis.
To be eligible for the courses, candidates must have a laptop or PC and an internet connection, be over 18 years of age and have a high school diploma.
The priority would be given to those who want to continue education and pursue a career in data analysis.
The course will be provided to 500 students throughout the year who will be selected after application review and personal interviews with the Yango team. The first batch will have about 250 beneficiaries.
Meanwhile, Felix Agbolosu, a Yango partner driver, is enthusiastic about the opportunity for him and his niece to benefit from this initiative.
“Offering this educational course for Ghanaians is a very good initiative by Yango. It is an act of care and concern for the well-being of the Ghanaian community. IT education has become very important in the world these days and I’m happy to benefit from such an essential course. I believe this will help me, my family and many other beneficiaries learn more about technology and apply the knowledge gained in our daily lives.”
In practical terms, the course lasts 80 hours at a rate of 20 hours per week, giving a total of one month’s learning.
