Kwame Asare Obeng, better known as A Plus, has hit back at Justin Kodua Frimpong, the General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), after Kodua denied that the NPP had approached him. In a post, A Plus revealed that both the NPP and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) had, in fact, contacted him about working together in Parliament.
A Plus shared that Kennedy Agyapong, the outgoing MP for Assin Central, offered him a deal on behalf of the NPP. The deal was that A Plus would join the NPP in Parliament, but in return, he would not run for the Gomoa Central parliamentary seat in 2028.
A Plus also mentioned that the NDC had invited him to a meeting the next day. He posted, “The NDC, with whom I genuinely wish to align, has invited me for a meeting tomorrow at 8 a.m. While I have friends in both the NDC and NPP, they must understand that I will have to disappoint one of them tomorrow. My heart leans toward the NDC, but I will choose whoever offers the best deal for me and my people.”
In response, Justin Kodua denied A Plus’s claims. He posted on X, saying, “The NPP has not met with A Plus, nor has anyone from the party spoken to him.”
In a video, A Plus quickly responded with strong words for Kodua, accusing him of leading the NPP into defeat in the 2024 elections. He said, “You led the party into opposition. I’m now the MP-elect for Gomoa Central, but your party is collapsing. Your political career is over. They will vote against you. You’re weak and irrelevant.”
A Plus also warned Kodua, saying he knew secrets about him. “Nana Agyei is my friend, and if you misbehave, I will start exposing your secrets,” he threatened.
