Youth and Sports Minister, Mustapha Ussif, commends Samson Deen-led APC for opening secretariat in Accra — Ghana Sports Online

Ghana’s Minister for Youth and Sports, Hon. Mustapha Ussif has lavished praises on the African Paralympic Committee (APC) leadership for opening the body’s first secretariat in Africa in Accra.

The sector minister officially open the center on Friday, February 24, 2023, during the launch of the 2023 African Para Games together with the unveiling of the logo and the Local Organising Committee for the Games.

Deen, who was elected President of the AFC in November 2021, pledged to stage the first African Para Games during his tenure and managed to court the support of H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to host the event in Accra.

Meanwhile, the accomplished sports administrator has been able to lead his team of managers to open the first African Paralympic Secretariat in Accra and the sector minister has been moved by his results-oriented effort.

“Let me congratulate the Africa Paralympic Committee for acquiring this secretariat for the first time. I must say that this shows dedication and commitment to ensure the success of all sporting activities of the committee. I would urge the Executive Committee of the Africa Paralympic Committee to effectively use this facility for the maximum benefit of the entire continent. It must serve as an eye-opener and a brilliant emulation for other federations,” Hon. Mustapha Ussif stated during his address at the event on Friday.

A 10-member LOC chaired by Dr. Chris Boadi Mensah was announced during the event on Friday.
