Solomon Kweku Wise, a 12-year-old boy allegedly kidnapped by an okada rider in Awutu Botoku, Awutu Senya West District, has been safely located and reunited with his family.
Solomon went missing after his mother arranged for the okada rider to take him to school on Monday. Concerns grew when he did not return home, prompting a search effort that initially proved unsuccessful.
The okada rider was apprehended on Tuesday morning following footage captured by a nearby CCTV camera, although he claimed no knowledge of Solomon’s whereabouts.
Fortunately, a good Samaritan named Peter Essel found Solomon and promptly brought him to the police station. Solomon recounted that the okada rider had taken him to the Awutu Bereku lorry station, where he was subsequently transported in a white private car. His escape occurred when the vehicle paused for a purchase during the journey.
After detailing his ordeal to Peter Essel, Solomon was joyfully reunited with his relieved parents.
Nai Adawu Dua-Quaye, Tufuhene of the Awutu Traditional Council, confirmed Solomon’s return but noted that the boy’s condition was still unsettled during an interview with Adom News.
The incident underscores the community’s vigilance and the pivotal role of swift action in reuniting abducted individuals with their families.
