Mfantsipim School is seeking support from old boys, corporate organisations and benefactors to fund its future development priorities as it marks 150 years of educational excellence.

Chairman of the Anniversary Planning Committee, Capt. John B. Yamoah, made the appeal at the school’s Sesquicentennial Awards and Fundraising Dinner at the Accra International Conference Centre on Saturday, October 31, 2026.

He described the anniversary as an opportunity to celebrate the institution’s heritage while mobilising resources to secure its future.

“Supporting Mfantsipim is an investment in the principle that quality education is essential to national development,” he said.

Capt. Yamoah urged old boys, corporate partners and friends of the school to contribute generously, noting that every donation represented an investment in education, leadership and Ghana’s future.

He said the anniversary also sought to recognise generations of teachers, old boys and other stakeholders whose dedication and service had contributed to the school’s development and Ghana’s progress.

The awards ceremony recognised excellence across academia, public service, business, arts, science, education and media.

According to Capt. Yamoah, the awards were designed to honour not only alumni but also individuals, organisations, teachers and staff whose contributions had advanced the school and society.

He commended the awards subcommittee and 27 subject matter experts who led the adjudication process, as well as PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Ghana for supporting the integrity and credibility of the awards.

He said the anniversary, held under the theme, “Mfantsipim at 150: A Legacy of Excellence, Leadership and Service,” should inspire the present generation to dream bigger, work harder and serve selflessly
