Defending Ghana Premier League champions, FC Samartex, will welcome Accra Lions at the Nsenkyire Park for matchday 26 of the 2024/25 campaign.Samartex head to the match with hopes of bouncing back after defeat on the road to Vision FC in midweek.Accra Lions were inactive in midweek after their outstanding game against Nsoatreman FC was cancelled following the withdrawal of the FA Cup winners from the Ghana Premier League.The Accra-based club were however rewarded all three points lifting them off the bottom of the table.Before that Accra Lions had beaten fellow strugglers Legon Cities in their match week 25 encounter to boost their survival chances.Samartex have not had the best of their title defence but remain in pole position to finishing in top four.The Tombers, who currently sit 10th on the table, have lost only one of their last five matches, winning two and drawing two.Meanwhile, Accra Lions lost two and won two of their last five games.In their five meetings in the Ghana Premier League, Samartex have won three with two ending in a draw.While Accra Lions are chasing their first ever win against the champions, Samartex are eager to keep their outstanding home record in tact.Samartex have an experienced squad, with former Hearts of Oak players James Sewornu and Kwesi Agbemisah playing pivotal roles at the club. Mohammed Alhassan Mankuyeli and Emmanuel Mamah are also threats in attack for Samartex.Accra Lions have relatively the most inexperienced team in the league, with a lot of the youngsters tasting the Premier League for the first.
